In my personal opinion a wedding makeup trial is a must! You want to ensure you feel comfortable with your hair and makeup artist, and that they get to know your skin before hand, get a sense of your style and capture an overall vibe of your wedding look. Typically most artist do charge a fee for a trial, and you should take advantage of your wedding makeup trial. Book your engagement shoot to follow the trial so you have your hair and makeup already done and don’t have to pay for makeup twice! This will also allow you to see how your makeup translates to film and if there’s anything you want to change you can let your MUA know! If you’ve already done your engagement shoot, have a date night or a girls night out, don’t let your pretty makeup go to waste! And most definitely wear it for a solid 8-10 hours and jot down any notes if you notice anything about the wear of your makeup. This will ensure that come wedding day you have all your bases covered and will be ready for flawless, long lasting makeup!
One of my best friend Danielle went from her hair and makeup trial to her engagement shoot, only having to pay for professional makeup once. The photos turned out stunning and she got a chance to see how her makeup looked on camera because typically the photographer who shoots your engagement shoot will also be shooting your wedding. It’s a win win for everyone!
